New Adventures... inside Old ones

It's been a bit since I've collected my thoughts here. Mostly I've been concentrating on book one revisions. They move slow but onward. I'm trying not to dwell on the snail's pace I'm keeping with it, but I think the completed sections are much better than they once were. And that's something. ;)

It was brought to my attention recently, that many of my friends and family are really looking forward to reading "something" from Mirnth. They've been constantly asking if Prophecies is done, and I have had to continually say: "No. Not yet, see I'm....."

So, my brother in law says; "Why don't you write a short story that you can share... to whet appetites." At the mention of this, I have to admit, I was a little nervous. I've been so wrapped up in these stories and book one's revision in particular, that I wasn't sure I had the time.

... and then I had a day long off and on texting conversation with a good friend. During which I began to see just where I "could" fit something in.

There's one character who meets another, and from there they travel together, fast friends. Later in the story, we get to see a 'bit' of what had him set out on his travels... but not all.

And there it was. Exactly where I could tell a short story, without affecting the greater novel series. At All. =)

Continuing those texts, I found a new fellow had a part in this telling... and with my friend's help, I've created him. And then named him in honor of said good friend. The story is still in it's infancy, I'm not all together sure it isn't even a bit longer, say Novella length. But I do know it will have some crazy funny scenes. And some serious ones too.

This all thanks to some silent messages from a soul whom I cherish. Without further ado, I introduce j'ADalen, an artist among rats. =)
