Things Are On The Move

Months have gone by again.

Whenever I check this blog, I can feel the pull of shame wrap itself around my mid-section. I've gone and neglected this... again.  Even after promising myself not to!

Well, that pretty much has to change, starting now.

I've been attending Superstars Writing Seminars for the past three years.  Even while still in attendance for the very first time, I knew this was the Tribe I had been looking for - a group of writers that I connected with in very elemental ways.    Before I flew back home, I knew I wouldn't return to the other conferences I had been attending.  I had outgrown what they could give to me.  This was my next step forward.

Last year, in February of 2014,  the instructors of Superstars decided to create a hands-on workshop exercise that would let attendees and alumni get up close and personal with some really intense emotions for writers.  The true submission/rejection/acceptance/editing/producing/publishing process.

And thus, was born:  ONE HORN TO RULE THEM ALL: A PURPLE UNICORN ANTHOLOGY http://www.amazon.com/One-Horn-Rule-Them-All/dp/1614751927/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431278575&sr=8-1&keywords=one+horn+to+rule+them+all

I submitted to the collection, but my work wasn't chosen.  Yet never has a rejection felt so amazing.  Instead of hurt or frustration, I felt nothing but pride for my friends who had achieved a lifelong goal of their own.   I knew my turn would come, this had just been theirs.   The entire process was amazing to watch.

Then this year, Superstars and guest editor Lisa Mangum from Shadow Mountain Publishing  announced the second collection.  It would be called GAME OF HORNS: A RED UNICORN ANTHOLOGY.  I submitted again.  And yesterday, the table of contents was revealed.  This time, my work was accepted.  And will appear smack dab in the middle of the book.  I couldn't have asked for that placement.  It is perfect.

As the process continues, now into the final editing/producing/publishing stages,  I'll move up a step into the my own dreams as well.

I look very much forward to sharing the information and links when the anthology is released.  Until then, thanks again for stopping by.  I really do promise to get back here more often.  :)
